Task K - Sources of information
In the beginning of this module, I revisited an application called "Evernote" that I had downloaded a few years ago. I hadn't utilized it as a resource until recently, but it's helped me keep my thoughts organized and laid out a bit more. For most of my life, I have taken notes in notebooks, on receipts, on my hand, all over the place. Now that I have started using an application to collect and expand on information, I have an easier time accessing my notes/information, and organizing it.
While reading through the hand book, readers, and various pertinent articles attached to the learning subjects, I usually have the application open in it's own window side by side with whatever the reading material is seen below:
By doing this, it enables me to copy and paste key paragraphs, ideas, etc. into my own notebooks, to then allow me to expand on my thoughts below in the same document. Also, it allows me to sync the application across devices, so if I want to move over to my iPad and continue a blog draft, I can do so. Quite handy! Another feature I've found particularly helpful is having multiple "notebooks".
That way I can keep track of all the projects I'm working on all in one application.
Another application I've been using for collecting info and planning projects is called Trello.
It's a great way to lay out tasks, make checklists, brainstorm with visuals, and more. I've been using it with the development team I'm working with to create an independent video game. It's help with workflow and staying on track immensely. I may try and adopt it with my University work, and see how it flows with helping me stay on track and formulate notes and ideas. Here's an example screen shot of how our development team is using it:
As I develop, I'm learning that tools like the ones mentioned above can play a very important role in the organizational aspect of my practice. I've realized over this first module it's a skill that I am far from mastering and hope to get better at.
The thought has even crossed my mind to eventually transcribe my notebooks full of notes into a digital format. I'm sure there's software that can do so after scanning in a document, the trick would just be being able to read my own handwriting!

Thanks so much for sharing this, both apps sound super useful! I'll download them :) x
